“Nature Writing” reflects the growing interest in ecology and environmentalism in popular science writing. We will explore how experts from across disciplines take up issues such as: conservation, animal cognition, botany, environmental justice, climate change, zoonotic diseases, and more. ENLS 341.01 The Hidden God of Nature M 7-9:50pm Paul Siewers
Take a deep dive into cosmic mysteries behind the tradition of the novel in literature, as we explore the role of spirituality in shaping identity, nature, and art. We’ll consider how environment, text, author, and reader combine to make meaning in classic works ranging from ancient Celtic stories to The Brothers Karamazov and modern films, and discuss some big questions of life along the way.
